To go from 450 skill to 525, you will need to start doing the Jewelcrafting Daily's in Stormwind asap. The daily quests are given from Marith Lazuria in Orgrimmar and Isabel Jones in Stormwind.
It's possible to go from 450-495 skill without using any of the plans purchased from Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Token and you should save your tokens for when you hit 495 skill as the only "cheap" way to get beyond that point is with purchased patterns from the vendor with tokens.
From 495-520 skill you will need to make any of the Meta gem plans, or crafting Fire Prism which you learn at 500 skill. Unfortunately [Fire Prism] is on a 20 hour cool down, so if you are looking to level your skill with speed, this isnt the best option.You can make Meta gem plans all the way to 520 skill at which point the skillup will become green and be more rare to award a skill point.
To get from 520-525, the best option is to craft Fire Prism for the next 5 days.
