Strategy

Normal

Above Ground Phase

Positioning Corborus is fairly simple on this phase, he does no cleaving or other AOE attacks that would make his facing or movement critical. It is suggested that all range players spread out away from one another to avoid multiple people being damaged at once during Crystal Barrage.

Every so often he will cast his Crystal Barrage on a random person, you can quickly move out of this spray of crystals to avoid taking too much damage from them. Once he targets someone, wherever they were standing the moment he started casting this is where the cast is directed, it does not follow that player if they move.

Corborus will cast Dampening Wave every 20 seconds or so which needs to either be healed through or dispelled if critical. This debuff only becomes an issue if you have excessive amounts of adds remaining after each underground phase completes.

Underground Phase

Every so often Corborus will burrow underground making himself un-targetable for approximately 30 seconds. During this time, Rock Borer's will spawn constantly which have about 5k health and should be killed as quickly as possible. The longer these adds are up, the more likely they will stack the Rock Bore debuff on anyone they hit which can become problematic on some healers.

In addition to spawning adds, Corborus will cast Emerge in random spots on the ground every few seconds. These spots are shown as a dust cloud on the ground, anyone near one has about 3-4 seconds to move away from it before taking damage from it and being knocked back. The knockback itself doesnt hurt but it does fling you a considerable distance which makes dealing with the adds a little harder if its the healer or tank.

Heroic

Above Ground Phase

This phase is almost identical to the normal version of the fight as described above except now whenever Corborus casts his Crystal Barrage, it will spawn 8 to 10 Crystal Shards in that spot about 2 seconds after he finishes casting it. These need to be AOE killed as quickly as possible as they will begin to chase any player closest to them and when they get within 3 yards of that person, they explode for 20k damage each as well as placing a debuff on anyone hit by that damage that increases all damage taken by 25% for the next 15 seconds. This can be extremely problematic for a healer if too many people take damage from the Crystal Shards.

Underground Phase

This phase is also similar to the normal version except that anyone now hit by Corborus' Emerge ability will be killed instantly. The exact damage his Emerge does on heroic is unknown at this time but is believed to be upwards of 200k damage. It is imperative that everyone avoids the dust clouds when they see them to avoid being hit.

Additionally, the add spawns on this phase hit a lot harder and have a little more health (about 11k) and the debuff they place on anyone they hit also hurts for a lot more which can become a huge problem if the adds are not handled quickly. Even if Corborus is back to his above ground phase, any Rock Borer's remaining should be killed as quickly as possible.
